Anton Diabelli

Austrian composer Anton Diabelli (1781-1858) spent most of his life in Vienna. He was a choir-boy, studied composition with Michael Haydn and also guitar and piano. As an adult he taught guitar and composed over 100 works for the instrument. Diabelli was also the main publisher for many of Schubert's and Beethoven's works. His name is familiar through the 'Diabelli Variations' written by Beethoven on a waltz by Diabelli.
