The Piae Cantiones

Piae Cantiones was published in 1582 in Greifswald by the Finnish student Theodoricus Petri. The collection was conceived for use by young Finnish and Swedish students, and is thus one of the earliest printed school song-books in existence. It was used widely and appeared in several new editions and reprints over the course of a couple of centuries.
