Swiss composer Othmar Schoeck (1886-1957). He studied at the Zurich Conservatory, then in Leipzig with Max Reger before moving back to Zürich, where he spent the remainder of his life. His worklist includes some three-hundred songs for voice and piano, several song cycles with ensemble or orchestra, and eight operas. His instrumental oeuvre is far slighter: there is one concerto each for the violin, horn and cello, a few minor works for orchestra, and a small amount of piano and chamber music.
