Wilhelm Stenhammar

Swedish composer Wilhelm Stenhammar (1871-1927).
Sweden's greatest composer, also the best pianist in Sweden of his time. At the beginning he wrote in a late Romantic style, later in a more Classical style. Conductor of the Gothenburg Orchestral Society between 1906 and 1922, making the city a musical rival to Stockholm.
