This American Folksong is also known as Brother Green, a lament of a less fortunare fighting man, shot and expiring during the American Civil War. The tune, arranged by Nigel Short, is a version of another famous song of death - the old Scots ballad, Barbara Allen. Baritone solo: Matthew Brook.
