Carnival of Venice

Arban: Carnival of Venice. The twelve Fantasies with Theme and Variations that Arban composed for the cornet are undeniably entertaining, but for the soloist they are exceptionally demanding display pieces. In particular the last of these works, the famous variations on The Carnival of Venice, have maintained their place in the repertoire and have also been played in arrangements for other instruments. The version heard here is arranged for the tuba by the soloist’s wife, Anna.
