New York Polyphony will release Times go by Turns on July 14, the highly anticipated follow-up to their acclaimed BIS Records début endBeginning.

Showcasing New York Polyphony's signature fusion of refined musicianship and modern approach, Times go by Turns features powerful performances of music written by English Renaissance masters Thomas Tallis and William Byrd, and the all-but-unknown medieval composer John Plummer. The ensemble adds contemporary color to the programme with two commissioned works: Andrew Smith's soaring 'Kyrie: Cunctipotens Genitor Deus' and the playfully intricate 'Ite missa est' of award-winning composer Gabriel Jackson. Completing the sequence is one of the last compositions by eminent English composer Richard Rodney Bennett, a setting of a poem by Sir Thomas Browne called 'A Colloquy with God'. Scored for four unaccompanied male voices, this spellbinding piece was dedicated to the ensemble shortly before the composer's death in 2012.
