John Storgårds



Finnish conductor and violinist John Storgårds (born 1963) is one of the most versatile and respected Finnish musicians of his generation, an internationally acclaimed conductor and much celebrated violinist. He began playing the violin at an early age, and studied at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and then with Chaim Taub in Israel. John Storgårds received the Finnish State Prize for music in 2002. Principal conductor of the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra since 2008.
