I. Allegro non troppo

Mention is sometimes made of the serious undertones of this composition; it is sometimes even implied that the 'Divertimento' reflects the tragic period in which it was written - but we should not be wary of exaggeration. Indeed, the piece can be characterized as a positive, even sunny work - with the exeption of the slow movement.
