Fumiko Shiraga

Japanese pianist Fumiko Shiraga was born in Tokyo in 1967 and has lived in Germany since she was a child. She studied under Detlef Kraus, Friedrich Wilhelm Schnurr, Malgorzata Bator and Vladimir Krainev at the Colleges of Music in Essen, Detmold and Hanover. She has recorded for BIS since 1996 and has won worldwide acclaim for her series of piano concertos 'in disguise'.
