Melody to the Memory of a Lost Friend XIII, for organ and electronics

For organ and electronics. The work was a commission from Südwestrundfunk in Germany for the 300th anniversary Bach year in 1985. The last work in a cycle of chamber-music compositions for instrument and tape, a cycle inspirated by the decision of a close friend to end his own life. Another source of inspiration was Hieronymus Bosch's remarkable triptych showing the ascension inte heaven.
