John Ireland



English composer John Ireland (1879-1962). Dispite sympathies for pagan mysticism, socialism and humanism, Ireland never flinched from his devotion to English church music. Teacher at the Royal College of Music. Retired in 1953, settling in Sussex for the rest of his life.
