A new revised edition of Charpentier's opera 'The Hypochondric', with text by Molière, was prepared in Paris, and Saint-Saëns was responsible for the new edition. He had always been interested in the dance forms of earlier times, and in 1892 he composed several dances in the old style for inclusion in the opera. Solo violin: Tero Latvala.
