Dialogue du vent et de la mer

ComposerDebussy, Claude

'La Mer' was largely composed in Normandy, in the port of Dieppe on the English Channel. However, it was less the surge of the North Sea that stirred Debussy's imagination than the gentler surf of the Aegean. This piece helped usher in the modern era of classical music and broke new ground in orchestration.
