La Valse - choreographic poem

ComposerRavel, Maurice

'La Valse' is perhaps Ravel's most modern composition. Only the experience of World War II made it possible to put on stage his 'birth of surrealism from the spirit of impressionism'. In 1951 George Balanchine choreographed 'La Valse' in New York as the disaster scenario Ravel had intended.
