Hungarian UMZE Chamber Ensemble, Budapest, was founded in 1997 by percussionist Zoltán Rácz and musicologist András Wilhelm. The name is the Hungarian abbreviation for 'New Hungarian Music Association'. The members are proud to inherit and continue the tradition of the original UMZE established in 1911 and closely associated with the activities of Béla Bartók and Zoltán Kodály.
