Jolas, Betsy
Betsy Jolas
French composer Betsy Jolas (b. 1926). Resident in the USA 1940-1946, then returned to France. She combined avant-gardism with a lyrical impulse, leading her to write much vocal music. Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur 1997.
