The world’s hitherto all-time most played trombone concerto must be the “Motorbike Concerto” by Jan Sandström, created in close co-operation with Christian Lindberg. It has now had way over an incredible 700 performances!! Obviously this has inspired the team to write another concerto, the Don Quixote from 1994, which is recorded here, together with other music by this maverick Swedish composer. Christian Lindberg is the soloist, and no less than Osmo Vänskä conducting the Lahti SO.
