Michel-Richard de Lalande



French composer Michel-Richard de Lalande (1657-1726). Louis XIV engaged him as harpsichord teacher to two of his children. De Lalande thus began a forty-three year association with Versailles, where, after holding various minor posts, he rose to be Maître de Chapelle.
