Christian Gottlieb Scheidler



German composer Christian Gottlieb Scheidler (1752-1815).
Self-effacement is a rare, and even inconsistent, trait in a composer, but it was exhibited by Scheidler. He resisted the publication of his works and the fame he attained in his time was owed to the wide currency of manuscript copies, few of which have survived.
