Folke Alin



Swedish conductor Folke Alin (b. 1960) was trained at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, under Irène Mannheimer. As a free-lance musician he has given a number of Lieder concerts with, among others, Erik Saedén and Ingrid Tobiasson, been part of several chamber music ensembles, and worked at the Folk Opera in Stockholm, where he was rehearsal pianist, choirmaster, and conductor 1987-1998. As of 1998 he is choirmaster at the Royal Opera in Stockholm. Folke Alin joined Orphei Drängar (OD) as a first bass and was soon pressed into service as an accompanist. In 1995 Folke Alin became OD's assistant choirmaster.
