Glazunov's La Mer, 'The Sea', fantasy for orchestra. In this piece Glazunov elaborated upon experiences from a trip to the Crimea, and also professed his admiration for Richard Wagner; as Glazunov himself remarked, La Mer is not only composed 'in memory of', but also 'under the strong influence of' Wagner.
