Böhme, Oskar

German/Russian composer Oskar Böhme (1870-1938).
After studying at the Leipzig Conservatory, he emigrated to Russia, where in 1899 he was engaged in the Imperial Court Orchestra in St. Petersburg. From 1903 until 1921 he continued his career as solo trumpeter of the Mariinsky theatre, and was active as a teacher and composer. After playing in the orchestra of the Maxim Gorky theatre, he ended his orchestral career in 1934 and moved to Orenburg in the Urals, where he taught at the college of music.
