Campra, André
French composer André Campra (1660-1744). Maître de Musique of Notre Dame in Paris at the age of 34. He also composed music for the Latin tragedies performed by the students at the Jesuit College Louis-le-Grand, where Charpentier worked. Under the regency of Philip of Orleans he shared the duties of the Chapelle Royale at Versailles with Lalande, Bernier and Gervais.
