Corbett, William
English composer William Corbett (1675-1748).
Best known for his chamber music. He also wrote music for the theatre and wrote books about the theory of opera. Corbett performed as a violinist and organized charity concerts in London and elsewhere in England. He is strongly suspected of having financed his collecting of violins and paintings by acting as a spy and informer for the English king.
