Henze, Hans Werner
German composer Hans Werner Henze (b. 1926). His works are marked by an individual and advanced style, wrought within traditional forms. The music is extremely varied, with influences from, for instance, atonality, Stravinsky, Italian music and jazz. Henze is known for his left-wing political convictions, which are reflected in some of his works. In 1953 he moved to Italy.
