Rott, Hans
Austrian composer Hans Rott (1858-1884). He was organist at the Piarist Church in Vienna for some years, until 1878. After that he apparently had no fixed appointment. He was Bruckner's favourite pupil at the Vienna Conservatory, and he graduated from its organ faculty in 1877 with top marks. His music is little known today, though he received high praise in his time from Gustav Mahler and Anton Bruckner.
