Stanchinsky, Alexey Vladimirovich
Russian composer Alexey Vladimirovich Stanchinsky (1888-1914). Drowned under mysterious circumstances at the young age of 26, Stanchinsky led a short and chaotic life marked by several stays at a psychiatric clinic. In his highly original works for piano he attempts to combine modality, polyphony and post-Romantic epressiveness in the syle of Scriabin.
