Starer, Robert
Austrian/American composer Robert Starer (1924-2001) entered the Academy in Vienna at the age of thirteen. Following the Anschluss he fled to Jerusalem where he studied music at the Palestine conservatory. During the Second World War he served with the British Royal Air Force and after the was entered the Juilliard School where he later taught. Many famous performers and conductors have championed his music.
