Welsh composer Thomas Tomkins (1572-1656). Prominent member of the English Madrigal School. Gentleman in Ordinary of the Royal Chapel. Organist of Worcester Cathedral from 1596, in the midst of the glory days of Elizabethan music, to the 1640's, well into the culturally and religiously lean times of the Commonwealth.
