Widor, Charles-Marie
French composer Charles-Marie Widor (1844-1937) occupies an important position in the idiosyncratic tradition of French organ music, serving as organist at St Sulpice in Paris for 64 years. Best known for his organ music, most of it secular, but his works also include chamber music, choral and vocal works .Among his pupils were Tournemire, Vierne, Albert Schweizer and Marcel Dupré.
