American composer John Williams (b. 1932).
Composer of a hundred or so film scores, also compositions for major political and sporting occasions. By 2009 Willams had won five Oscars, 18 Grammies, twenty Emmies and four British Academy Awards. From 1980 until 1993 he was the conductor of the Boston Pops Orchestra, of which he remains the conductor laureate.
