Romanian pan plutist and composer Georghe Zamfir (b1941). Master of the pan flute. In 1968 he completed his studies in panpipes and piano, as well as counterpoint and ensemble direction at the Bucharest Conservatory with the title of orchestra director. Later Zamfir became the director of Romania's biggest folklore ensemble, Ciorcilia.
