Dausgaard, Thomas
Danish conductor Thomas Dausgaard (b. 1963) assumed the position of chief conductor of the Danish National Symphony Orchestra/DR in August 2004 and they, shortly after, extended his contract until the 2009/10 season. Dausgaard and the orchestra tour extensively worldwide, performing regularly in Berlin, Vienna, Paris, Amsterdam and at the BBC Proms in London, as well as undertaking, in 2005, the orchestra’s first major tour of Asia, including concerts in Beijing and Seoul. Thomas Dausgaard is also principal conductor of the Swedish Chamber Orchestra, a position he has held since September 1997.
