Eggen, Christian
Norwegian conductor and pianist Christian Eggen (born 1957) made his debut as pianist in 1973, and has given music recitals in and out of his native Norway which have given him enthusiastic press reviews. He represented his country at the 1984 Nordic Soloists' Biennial.
As a conductor he had his international break-through at the 1990 ISCM World Music Days in Oslo, and with his Cicada ensemble he has been appearing at concerts and festival all over the world. Eggen and Cicada were the recipients of the Nordic Council Prize and 2005, and and 2007 His Majesty King Harald V appointed Eggen Commander of the Royal Norwegian Order of St. Olav.
