To mark the 200th anniversary of Johann Strauss II's birth, the Munich Radio Orchestra and Patrick Hahn dedicated a CD produkction to the "Waltz King." The result is a musical portrait of the composer, humorous and imbued with a touch of Viennese charm. The name Johann Strauss has lost none of its luster to this day, just like his golden monument in Vienna's Stadtpark, which depicts him as the world knows him: violin in hand, the radiant Waltz King. While this title was also bestowed upon his father, it is the son with whom it is most commonly associated today.
