Atsuko Seki plays Mozart | Scheffel | Beethoven | Schumann
The Japanese pianist Atsuko Seki has released a cd on brh records for the second time which is her (overall) fifth album. Besides famous works of the classical-romantic repertoire which emphasize her honed tonal refinement and her ability to immerse herself into their lyrical contents, there are also two modern compositions. Here Atsuko Seki inspires with tonal balance and unique singing tone. The Preludio for piano solo by composer Matthias Scheffel works with serial technique, free tonality, and also jazz elements, while in „El Hierro“ a journey to the end of the world is reflected which the island was said to be for a long time. In Mozarts sonata KV 570 there are echoes of his opera „Die Zauberflöte“, while Beethoven composed the sonata op 110 as a requiem for his immortally beloved Josephine von Brunsvik. The nine miniatures of „Waldszenen op 82“are masterly examples of Schumanns art of putting a poetic sensibility in a simple yet suggestive form.

Made in Sweden since 1999. In collaboration with Textalk.
