Anton Bruckner’s symphonic cathedrals, presented in the order in which they were composed and in their original versions: On their new GENUIN release, the MDR Symphony Orchestra Leipzig, under its chief conductor Dennis Russell Davies, boldly takes on a major project in collaboration with the label. This approach offers an unprecedented insight into the works as a whole and the individual stages of their development. The series continues with monthly releases; the latest installment is Symphony No. 1 in C minor. Bruckner completed the original “Linz version” in 1866.
