Chopin: Nocturnes
Pavel Kolesnikov makes his harmonia mundi debut with the complete Nocturnes of Frédéric Chopin, spread across two discs. For Kolesnikov, each Nocturne is an intimate world of its own, full of colours, silences and echoes, and his aim is for the music to sound like something remembered or dreamt rather than simply performed. The set includes Nocturnes Nos. 1–21, with No. 20 presented in two versions, and offers a deeply personal journey through some of the most poetic piano music ever written.
