Soprano Giulia Semenzato and guitarist Jadran Duncumb perform music by Rossini, Fernando Sor, Mauro Giuliani, Schubert and others, from fiery Spanish seguidillas to Neapolitan tarantellas and heartfelt lieder in guitar arrangements. Approaching the repertoire with the sensibility of early-music specialists, the duo restores its rhetorical, ornamented expression. The result is an intimate recital in which the plucked string and the human voice speak directly to the heart.
