The combination of flute and harp holds a special place in French music, from Mozart's Concerto K.299 to Debussy and beyond. This disc presents a refined selection of pieces for the duo, performed by two leading French specialists. Jean Cras (1879–1932) contributes his substantial Suite en duo in four movements, including a spirited finale marked 'Danse à onze temps'. Gabriel Fauré is represented by the Sicilienne Op.78 (in Henri Büsser's arrangement) and the Berceuse from the Dolly Suite. Clémence de Grandval (1828–1907) adds her atmospheric Valse mélancolique, and Eugène Bozza (1905–1991) the evocative Deux Impressions — evoking the Villa Medici fountain and a dance. Franz Liszt completes the programme. Juliette Hurel (flute) and Isabelle Moretti (harp) bring warmth, elegance and effortless ensemble throughout.
