The Sound of Maestros
Catalog Number: MYCL-00075
This exquisite album features eight legendary violins—including masterpieces by Stradivari, Guarneri "del Gesù", and Amati—crafted by master luthiers some 300 to 400 years ago, alongside a contemporary masterpiece. This recording offers a rare opportunity to appreciate the distinct tonal beauty and profound resonance of instruments from different eras.
The repertoire consists of beloved classics composed by the great violin virtuosos of their time, such as Sarasate and Kreisler. The performances are brought to life by two of Japan’s leading musicians: violinist Yayoi Toda, winner of the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition, and pianist Midori Nohara, winner of the Marguerite Long-Thibaud International Piano Competition. Together, they deliver a vibrant and magnificent musical experience.
