FILAMENTOS from Dominican-Canadian composer Liova Bueno is a tribute to the close personal and musical relationship between the composer and the late guitarist Alexander Dunn. Featuring Dunn’s former duo partner Robert Ward and protégés Robert Wang and Simon Farintosh, the album unites two generations of guitarists. The repertoire ranges from the Latin American rhythms of Cuatro Recuerdos to the extended techniques of Duo Fantástico, while Tableaux reimagines older musical forms in a contemporary voice. Marking the first posthumous release in Dunn’s honor, the project connects his legacy to the new music he inspired.
