This two-disc set captures John Williams himself on the podium of 'The President's Own' United States Marine Band, recorded live at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in concerts given in 2003 and 2008. One of America's most celebrated composers leads the renowned wind ensemble through a panorama of his beloved film scores, including the Cowboys Overture, music from Close Encounters of the Third Kind, the 'Raiders March' from Indiana Jones, 'Harry's Wondrous World', the Olympic Fanfare and Theme, and 'Adventures on Earth' from E.T. Members of the band step forward as soloists and the Honorable Alan Simpson lends his voice as narrator. Williams has called performing with the Marine Band one of the highest honours of his musical life.
