Quatuor Diotima celebrates the centenary of Pierre Boulez with a recording of his Livre pour quatuor, capped by the world premiere of a fourth movement developed in close collaboration with the quartet and completed by Philippe Manoury after Boulez's death. The recording adds a significant new chapter to a work Boulez left in progress, and follows naturally from the ensemble's acclaimed 2023 Ligeti album. One of the most sought-after chamber groups working today, Quatuor Diotima has built close relationships with many leading composers of the past half-century, bringing that same contemporary sensibility to bear on repertoire from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The quartet returns to PENTATONE following Metamorphosis: Ligeti (2023) and Bruckner & Klose String Quartets (2024), the latter honoured with a Jahrespreis der Schallplattenkritik.
