Countertenor John Holiday presents Over My Head, a heartfelt collection of spirituals and songs about hope, love, peace and comfort. Accompanied by pianist Kevin Miller, he performs music by Hall Johnson and Robert L. Morris alongside traditional spirituals such as the title track and "Amazing Grace", several in his own arrangements. The album was recorded in November 2024 at the WGBH studios in Boston. Holiday's luminous voice and deep personal connection to this repertoire make for an intimate and uplifting listening experience.
