Recorded at the legendary Tippet Rise Art Center in Montana in 2021 — one of the first concerts held there during the COVID-19 pandemic — this deeply personal programme reflects the emotional landscape of that moment. Brandon Patrick George (flute) and Bryan Wagorn open with William Grant Still's lyrical Pastorela, followed by Carl Reinecke's beloved Sonata 'Undine' Op.167, inspired by the water-sprite legend of Fouqué. Franz Schubert's Introduction, Theme and Variations on 'Trockne Blumen' D.802 provides an extended, virtuosic conclusion. Songs including Night, Song to the Dark Virgin and Travel's End — the text evoking both the journey and its end — frame the programme with quiet intensity.
