The Swiss-Italian Lugano Percussion Ensemble is known for spectacular concerts built around huge multi-percussion set-ups. Light Percussion takes the opposite approach: a project developed together with its composers to draw listeners into fine shades of timbre and colour in a gentler, almost meditative way – and, practically, a set-up far easier to take on tour, not least to places where percussion instruments are hard to come by. The seven new works come from composers including Mathias Steinauer, Marta Gentilucci, Philippe Festou and Giacomo Platini, with one piece setting texts by the poet Roberto Precerutti. The album was recorded at the Lemura studio in Montagnola, Switzerland, in June 2026.
