The album starts with the sonata of Anne Danican Philidor designated the recorder as its instrument, and is composed in a gradation from French to Italian taste through various "sonatas" of the French Baroque. Mutsuyuki Motomura on recorder is joined by the Jugong Boys, a unit comprising cellist Toru Yamamoto and harpsichordist Takuya Nemoto. The use of the Italian-style cello rather than the French-style viola da gamba gives the album a more vivid gradation.
