Beethoven – Complete Works for Solo Piano, Vol. 10
The Sieben Bagatellen Op.33 (1802) are deceptively varied miniatures — from the graceful opening Andante grazioso to a brief, witty closing Presto — and together they form one of Beethoven's most charming sets. Alongside these, Ronald Brautigam presents a series of shorter pieces from 1795–1804 that were unpublished in the composer's lifetime: items from the Hess and WoO catalogues that offer an intimate view of Beethoven's workshop. Together they reveal a composer always alert to the expressive possibilities of even the briefest form. Brautigam plays a fortepiano after Conrad Graf (Vienna, c.1819), bringing his characteristic blend of technical brilliance and stylistic intelligence to this volume.
